When putting together a PowerPoint presentation, it can be difficult to manage all of the different items on each slide, especially if they overlap or have relationships with each other. Using the Selection Pane makes controlling these items simpler. The Selection Pane is a list of the items on a slide. From this list, you’re able to select one or multiple items, change the name of each item, and hide items for easy manipulation.
- Navigate to the Home tab.
- On the Editing group, choose Select.
- From the drop down menu, choose Selection Pane.
Once you’ve opened the Selection Pane, you’re able to choose which items to work with by clicking on the desired item. To choose more than one item, simply hold the Control key while selecting the appropriate items. For example, if you need to move two items the same distance and direction, select both items in the Selection Pane, and then use your mouse or arrow keys to adjust accordingly.
