Consolidate your News with RSS Feeds
Submitted by admin on Fri, 12/26/2008 - 01:00
Do you want to quickly aggregate web content that interests you? Target articles with RSS (really simple syndication) feeds to stay on top of newly updated content without becoming overwhelmed with information.
Using a feed reader, you can easily navigate the familiar file tree structure to see the articles that most interest you. Google, Bloglines, and Outlook offer readers. No matter which one you select, you can choose to subscribe to a publication’s RSS feed by clicking on the “RSS” icon, located usually at the bottom, in the masthead, or the right column of a post.
The newest browser versions also search for RSS feeds on the sites you visit. The RSS icon will change on your browser, and you may click the icon to easily subscribe to the feed.
For Outlook 2007 users, you may configure it to receive and display RSS feeds. They appear with your Inbox in your “All Mail Folders” box. Click here for a blog post from the Microsoft Developer's Network with more information.
