PowerPoint 2010 Tip: Broadcast your presentation

Submitted by ejmoore on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 13:41

PowerPoint 2010 provides you with the ability to broadcast your presentation over the Internet for remote or networked viewers- even if there is no projector available. To use the broadcast feature, you must have a free Windows Live account or use SharePoint server.

Simply select the Slide Show tab on the ribbon, then click the Broadcast Slide Show command. You'll be prompted for the service you want to use. The service will prepare your presentation for viewing and then provide you with a link to share with your viewers so they can watch the presentation. Click the Start Slide Show button to begin your presentation.

Submitted by ejmoore on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 10:05

Select a cell with a formula and press Ctrl-[ (Ctrl-open-square-bracket). Excel 2010 highlight all the cells referenced by the formula, and moves the current selection to the first of the referenced cells. Press Enter, and the selection moves to the next referenced cell. Continue to press Enter to move through the rest of the referenced cells.

PowerPoint 2010 Tip: Sections

Submitted by ejmoore on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 10:01

In PowerPoint 2010, you can use the new Sections feature to organize your slides, much like you would use folders to organize your files.

You can use named sections to keep track of groups of slides, or you can assign sections to colleagues to make ownership clear during collaboration.

To add a section, select a slide and click the Add Section command on the Home tab of the Ribbon. You'll see a section appear with the name "Section 1." To rename the selection, simply right-click it and choose Rename Section from the pop-up menu.
