Course Description:

You will create, edit, and enhance standard business documents using Microsoft Office Word 2010.

Course Objective:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Create a basic Word document
  2. Edit a document
  3. Format text
  4. Format paragraphs
  5. Insert a table
  6. Insert special characters and graphical objects
  7. Control the page setup and appearance of a Word document
  8. Proofread documents for accuracy

Target Student:

This course is intended for individuals who want to gain basic knowledge of working with Word.

Course Prerequisites:

To be successful in this course, you should be familiar with using personal computers and you should have used the mouse and keyboard. You should be comfortable in the Windows environment and be able to use Windows to manage information on the computer. Specifically, you should be able to launch and close programs; navigate to information stored on the computer; and manage files and folders. To ensure your success, we recommend you first take a introductory Windows courses, such as either of the following, or have equivalent skills and knowledge:

  1. Windows XP Professional: Level 1
  2. Windows XP: Introduction

Delivery Method:

Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities. Each student is provided with a computer and a manual. The manual is the student's to keep and makes an excellent reference guide.
