PowerPoint 2010: Introduction

Course Description:

You will explore the PowerPoint environment and create a presentation. You will format text on slides to enhance clarity. In order to enhance the visual appeal, you will add graphical objects to a presentation and modify them. You will also add tables and charts to a presentation to present data in a structured form. You will then finalize a presentation to deliver it.

Course Objective:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explore the PowerPoint 2010 interface and familiarize yourself with the interface
  2. Create a presentation
  3. Format text on slides
  4. Add graphical objects to a presentation
  5. Modify graphical objects on slides
  6. Work with tables in a presentation
  7. Import charts to a presentation
  8. Prepare to deliver a presentation

Target Student:

This course is designed for students who are interested in learning the fundamentals needed to create and modify basic presentations using Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010.

Prerequisites:

To be successful in this course, you should be familiar with using personal computers and you should have used the mouse and keyboard. You should be comfortable in the Windows environment and be able to use Windows to manage information on the computer. Specifically, you should be able to launch and close programs; navigate to information stored on the computer; and manage files and folders. To ensure your success, we recommend you first take a introductory Windows courses, such as either of the following, or have equivalent skills and knowledge:

  1. Microsoft Office Windows XP Introduction
  2. Microsoft Office Windows 2000 Introduction

Delivery Method:

Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities. Each student is provided with a computer and a Manual. The manual is the students to keep and makes an excellent reference guide.

Lesson 4: Adding Graphical Objects to a Presentation
