Got a slide from an old presentation that you'd like to insert into your new show? Open up a new presentation. From the "Insert" drop-down, select "Slides from Files". Browse and find the presentations you've already made and highlight the slides you want. Click “Insert” to add one, or “Insert All” to select all slides.

Want to get a graphic in just the right spot? Select your graphic or text box and hold down the Ctrl key. While doing so, use the arrow keys to move it around.

Never waste time flipping through pages you don't need to flip through! In the show mode, you can type in the number of any slide you want to view, hit enter, and it will appear on the screen.

To get to the first slide while creating your presentation, press "Ctrl+Home". Quickly jump to the last slide by pressing "Ctrl+End".

Rather than using the spell-check to look over an entire document, you can quickly replace individual mistakes. If a red jagged line appears under a word, right click that word and a drop down menu will appear showing you possible replacements for that misspelling. This trick also works with grammatical errors, which appear with a green jagged underline.

Need to pause the big show?
In the show mode, press "B" to take the screen into black-out mode, or "W" to white it out. If you want to go back to the presentation, press "B" or "W" again, and it will take you back the slides! You can also press the period key to black-out, or the comma key to white out.

There may be certain phrases or paragraphs you use time and time again in documents created over a long period of time. Memorizing these would be good, but creating “scraps” is a lot easier! “Scraps” can be saved on your desktop for easy access and copied for use within your documents. Sometimes an inserted picture needs to be cropped to remove certain unnecessary portions of the picture. Cropping removes these portions and also reduces the size of the picture, so it can fit nicely into your document. Cropping is easy to do this and it can drastically change the look of your document.
